Maternity Photography in Charlotte NC

Because I specialize in maternity photography in Charlotte, NC, many sessions I take are outdoors. And as many of you may know, the heat in Charlotte this summer has been no joke, and that was true for this family during their maternity session at The Ivy Place.

The family arrived at the session ready to enjoy it. The older sister was excited and clung to me during our photo session. Both girls were sensitive to the heat but, surprisingly, still played outside with me with no complaints. It was so hot that we could barely stand it. We all started sweating profusely as soon as we took out the camera. It was one of those days that you could tell would be amazing in photographs but feel miserable while taking them. We still had a great time and created some wonderful images they’ll cherish forever.

Yes, there was a lot of heat during this session, but mama was the real MVP of this maternity session.

This session took place in August, and she is due in September. She was such a trooper the entire session. We started with her trying on a few dresses from my client’s closet. After a few changes, we decided to keep the dress she had on when she arrived. Her oldest daughter wore a client closet dress, which you can see below. After all the changes in the heat, mama cooled off in the AC in the car, and then we started shooting.
