I always recommend neutral, simple colors and tones so the focus stays on your family, not your outfits.
Fad clothing, bright saturated colors, loud patterns, or extremely dark outfits can dramatically change the look and feel of your session. My advice? Keep it light and airy.
Colors that look great: cream, white, beige, gray, tan, and muted tones like soft pinks, coral, sage, or rust.
You can also layer clothing and add texture through knits, linens, gauze, or corduroy to bring subtle dimension to your images.
Let your wardrobe enhance your photos, not compete with them.
