Here are the 5 questions every expecting mom should ask before booking a Charlotte newborn photographer.
Question 1: “What’s Actually Included in the Session Fee?”
This is the most important question to ask, and the answer varies wildly from photographer to photographer.
Some Charlotte photographers include digital images in the session fee, while others don’t. A few include prints or albums as part of the package. Many include nothing beyond the shoot itself.
Ask for a clear breakdown of:
- What the session fee covers (just the shoot, or digital files too?)
- What’s available for purchase afterward (prints, albums, wall art?)
- Typical client investment beyond the session fee
- Whether wardrobe and styling are included

Ask to see a complete recent gallery. You want to see consistency across:

- Posing variety
- How they capture both baby AND parents
- How they handle siblings if you have older children
- Whether their style is consistent throughout
A great photographer should be proud to show you a full gallery.
Question 5: “What Do You Do With My Photos After the Session?”
Here’s the hard truth: most newborn photos never make it off the hard drive. The session ends, the gallery arrives, and life moves on.
Ask the photographer:
- Do you offer printed products like albums, framed prints, or wall art?
- Do you guide me through designing the artwork for my home?
- Do you help me pick the right size frame for my actual wall?
- What’s your turnaround time on products?
